Getting started with Treon Connect

1. Set up your account
Start by activating your Treon Connect account and downloading the Treon Connect app to your mobile device.

2. Familiarize yourself with the user interface
Next, familiarize yourself with the user interface and navigation of the Treon Connect Web app and the Treon Connect Mobile app.

3. Get to know your Assets and their sensor data
Have a look at the Assets you have been assigned and how to read the sensor data in Treon Connect Web and Treon Connect Mobile.

4. Learn how to deal with warnings and alerts
Prepare for the first alert or warning to happen and familiarize yourself with Events in Treon Connect.

5. Trigger measurements
When needed you can trigger additional measurements from the sensors monitoring your Assets.

Activate your Treon Connect account

Introduction

In order to use Treon Connect, you first have to activate your account.

Account activation is done exclusively through the Treon Connect web application.

Once your account is activated, you can use your credentials to access both the Treon Connect web and the Treon Connect mobile app.

Step-by-Step Instruction

Step 1: Receive Welcome Email

Initially, the Treon Connect administrator in your organization will create your account.

You will then receive an invitation to join Treon Connect via email.

If you don’t see the email, please check your spam folder. If needed, your administrator can resend the invitation to you via email.

Step 2: Click Link

To proceed, click the “Set up your new account” link in your invitation email.

Your browser will now automatically open a new window displaying the Treon Connect Welcome page.

Step 3: Choose Password

Please create a password for your Treon Connect account in the “New Password” field.

Choose a secure password that includes a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters.

Re-enter the same password in the “Confirm Password” field.

Step 4: Confirm Account

Click the SET PASSWORD button to save your new password and activate your account.

Your password has been successfully saved. Click the BACK TO LOGIN button to continue to the login screen.

Step 6: Log into the Account

This is the login screen for your Treon Connect instance.

Please enter your email address and the password you selected. Click the LOGIN button to access your Treon Connect account.

You have now successfully Treon Connect account!

You can use your new Treon Connect user credentials to log in via the Treon Connect web application and the Treon Connect app.

Troubleshooting

Error: I have not received the Welcome email

Check your Spam folder to see if the email is there.
In case the email cannot be found, ask your organisation's IT administrator to re-send the Welcome email.

Download Treon Connect Mobile app

This article explains how to download and install Treon Connect Mobile app for Android and iOS.

Android

Follow these steps to install the Treon Connect Mobile app on your Android device:

Step 1: Open Google Play Store

Access your Android smartphone.
Tap the Google Play Store icon to open it.

Step 2: Search for Treon Connect Mobile app

In the Google Play Store search bar at the top, type: Treon Connect
Press the search icon or Enter on your keyboard.
Look for the app titled Treon Connect by Treon Oy.

Click the Install button.

Introduction

This article explains the Treon Connect Mobile app user interface.

First log-in

After starting the Treon Connect Mobile app for the first time, you are asked to enter the name of your Treon Connect instance. Enter the link you have received and press SELECT.

After you have selected your Treon Connect instance, you are asked to enter your email address and your password. Enter both and press LOGIN to log in.

In case you forgot your Treon Connect instance password, you can reset it by selecting FORGOT PASSWORD? and entering your user email address in the next window. Press SEND EMAIL to receive an email with a reset link and information on how to reset your password.

Treon Connect Mobile UI

After starting the Treon Connect app, you will see the Dashboard menu of your Treon Connect instance.

By clicking the menu on the top left side, you will see the full navigation menu.

From the menu, you can access the Events menu where all alerts and warnings from the Assets assigned to you are displayed for the responsible maintenance technicians.

From the menu, you can also access the full list of Assets. Here you can assign new sensors to existing Assets when commissioning sensors.

Treon Connect Web UI Navigation

Introduction

The main user interface of Treon Connect contains 10 menus contained in 3 groups:

Control

The Control panel lets you set up your Treon Connect instance and change basic settings.

Access

In the Access menu you can create new users, manage existing users and manage your access management via defined roles.

Groups

In the Groups menu, you can organize your assets into multiple hierarchical levels to reflect your deployments and sites. These groups will also serve as the foundation for managing user access levels.

Assets

In the Assets menu you can create and manage all your assets and set up classifications for your assets.

Management

The Management panel lets you manage your Treon Connect workflow.

Networks

In the Networks menu you can see the network status of you Treon Gateways and sensors, as well as run diagnostics.

Devices

In the Devices menu you can see all gateways and sensors commissioned to your Treon Connect instance, as well as update their software.

Configurations

In the Configurations menu you can manage your assets' information.

Reports

In the Reports menu you can set up and review reports on your measurements and events.

Operations

The Operations panel lets you monitor your assets' operations, measurement data and events.

Events

In the Events menu you can manage all current and past warnings and alerts.

Condition

In the Condition menu you can manage the condition monitoring measurement data of your assets and set up alerts and warnings.

Fleet

In the Fleet menu you can manage the movement data and locations of your assets.

Clicking on your user profile in the top right corner will open your personal user menu. Here you can change your own profile, and log out of a Treon Connect instance.

Working with Events in the Treon Connect Mobile app

Introduction

Events include alerts and warnings that indicate that specific pre-set measurement levels have been detected.

The Treon Connect app shows the Events for the Assets a user has access to.

Working with Events

In your Events list, you will see:

Warning: A warning is an event with a lower threshold and potentially lower urgency.
Alert: An alert is an event with a higher threshold and higher urgency.
Info: Information events can be
a. triggered manually as information from the Treon Connect web platform or
b. are shown when a sensor measurement has been triggered manually.

Warnings and alerts are events triggered by pre-defined measurement thresholds based on:

Manually set parameters: Specific thresholds can be set for any of the measured KPIs to trigger warnings and alerts in case the measurement data fulfills the pre-et conditions.
Classifications: Applying ISO- and preset classifications can be used to set the same thresholds for a large number of sensors and to fulfill specific monitoring and maintenance requirements.
AI-based learning algorithms: Treon’s AI algorithm studies the measurement data for about two weeks in order to find baselines. Based on these baselines, alerts and warnings are sent out.

All categories of thresholds can be mixed and set at the same time. E.g. There can be manually set alert thresholds at the same time as thresholds defined by the AI-based learning algorithm. When you receive an alert or warning, you will see the type of event together with data on which threshold was breached by a measurement.

Whenever a measurement exceeds the threshold, an event is triggered. This event will be a warning or an alert depending on the severity of the threshold exceedance.

After the event has been triggered, it will show in the app of all people who have access to the Asset the measurement is made from.

You can now investigate the alert or warning further, check the measurement data and its progression over time. Of course, you can also directly check the Asset on location. You can add comments to the Event, both in Treon Connect Mobile and Treon Connect Web. This way you log all findings for yourself and other staff.

After your investigation and conducting all relevant maintenance of the Asset, you would enter the maintenance data in Treon Connect and finally clear the Event.

Investigating Events

Step 1: Open Events in Treon Connect Mobile

Open the Treon Connect Mobile app on your phone. In the navigation plane on the left side, click the Events menu.

Step 2: View Events list

A new menu opens. You can now see the full list of Events triggered by the sensor measurements at your Assets.

You can also choose to see the history of your cleared events by clicking History at the top.

Step 3: Viewing Event details

By clicking on the individual event in the Events list you open a new window with a summary of the event.

Group Name: Name of the Group the Asset belongs to.
Asset Name: Name of the Asset the sensor device is mounted on.
Device Name: Name of the sensor device.
Description: The description details which measurement KPI is concerned (Velocity RMS, Temperature, etc.), which value was measured, and at which value the event threshold is set.

Additionally, you will see the measurement data of the KPI over the last weeks. This helps seeing the development of the KPI over time. You can use this data to investigate if a potential trend over time correlates to a degradation of the Asset’s condition, and how soon maintenance is needed.

Event resolution

After an event has been triggered, you should follow your work instructions on how to follow up on the sensor measurement threshold exceedance on the equipment concerned.

Potential resulotions of events in your workflow might be:

Inspection of the equipment
Scheduling maintenance
Replacment of equipment or equipment parts.
etc.

Please consult your company’s work instructions and the equipment’s maintenance manual for further information.

Comments

You can add your findings to the Event in Treon Connect.

In the EventDetails*, click the *Comments* button in the bottom right corner.

This will open the Comments menu.

In the Comments menu you can log your findings on measurement data and maintenance progress.

The comments can be seen by yourself and all other Treon Connect users who have access to this Asset. This way you can collaborate with colleagues and external personnel on resolving the issue.

You and other users will be able to see these comments in case a new Event is triggered for the same Asset.

Clearing Events

After you have successfully followed your work instructions, you can clear an Event. After clearing, it will no longer show as active in the Events list, but as cleared.

The event will be shown ad cleared for all users and administrators with access to the Asset.

Step 1: Event info

In the Event Info, click *Clear on the top right side in order to clear an event.

Step 2: Data entry

A new menu will open. Here you enter information about the event and confirm that it should be cleared.

Cause of Event: Choose a root cause for the threshold exceedance from the drop-down list.

Action Taken: Choose the action you have taken to deal with the Event from the drop-down list.

Remarks: Enter any remarks concerning the root cause of the Event, the actions taken by you, or any relevant information in the text field.

Step 3: Confirmation

After all data about the event has been filled in, you can confirm clearing the Event by clicking Proceed.

The Event has now been cleared successfully.

The Event will be visible in the History section of the Asset’s events for you and other users assigned to the Asset.

Info: Information events can be
a. triggered manually as information from the Treon Connect web platform or
b. are shown when a sensor measurement has been triggered manually.

Description: The description shows more information on the threshold value that has been exceeded and the measurement sensor concerned by the event.

Device Name: Name of the sensor device.

Asset Name: Name of the Asset the sensor device is mounted on.

Group Name: Name of the Group the Asset belongs to.

Category: Category of the event will show one of the following:
- Limit: Fefault category for events triggered by pre-set rules.
- AI: Events automatically created by exceedance of limits created by a machine learning algorithm.
- Diagnostic: Device specifications related events, e.g. battery level signal strength events.

Start Time: Time the event was triggered by an exceedance of the threshold value.

Stop Time: Time the event stopped, if applicable.

Cause: The cause of the event can be selected.

Event resolution

After an event has been triggered, you should follow your work instructions on how to follow up on the sensor measurement threshold exceedance on the equipment concerned.

Potential resulotions of events in your workflow might be:

Analysing the sensor measurement data of the sensors on your Assets can give you valuable information on your Assets' maintenance status and lets you plan maintenance events well ahead of time.

In order to access the sensor measurement data of your Assets, follow the steps below.

01:16: If only one sensor is attached to the Asset, you can only choose this one device. If multiple devices are attached to the Asset, please choose one from the drop-down list.

01:27: You can choose the time range of the measurement data by clicking the "Time range drop-down menu.

01:32: Choose the time range for which to see data from. You can choose any time range from the last 3 hours to the last 30 days from the drop-down menu.

01:42: You can also define a custom time range by choosing the option "Custom".

01:47: Click the control button labeled "_ctl.W" to proceed with the ongoing task.

01:54: Choose the type of measurement data you would like to view in the drop-down menu. You can select multiple Key Performance Indicators at the same time.

02:03: The data has been successfully updated to your selected settings.

02:09: At the top under "Total" you will find an overview of the measurement data.

02:14: Swipe down to see all KPIs you have selected from the menu

02:18: The graphs are fully interactive. You can select any data point by clicking on the graph, and the value for this measurement will show above the graph.

02:28: In this example, we have chosen a data point for 25th November 2025 at 1:30 pm.

02:35: The value in this data point is displayed on top of the graph. In the example, the Velocity RMS for this time is 48.19

02:45: You can explore and analyze the measurement data on your own now.

02:51: You can change the display parameters at any point by switching the Device, the ime range and the KPIs from the pull-down menus at the top.

03:00: You have successfully completed the video tutorial on reading your Asset's measurement data in the Treon Connect Mobile app.

Step-by-step tutorial: Analyzing measurement data

Step 1: Open Assets in Treon Connect Mobile

Open the Treon Connect app on your phone.

In the navigation plane on the left side, click the Assets menu.

Step 2: Choose Asset

From the list of Assets, choose the Asset you would like to see data from.

This will open the Asset’s details with all sensors attached to the Asset.

On the bottom menu, choose Trends to access the Trends menu to view your sensor measurement data.

Step 4: Choose measurement data

You can choose which sensor’s data to view, the KPI and the time range:

Device: Choose the sensor device on the Asset that you would like to view measurement data from. If only one device is attached to the Asset, you can only choose this one device. If multiple devices are attached to the Asset, please choose the correct one from the drop-down list.
Time range: Choose the time range for which to see data from. You can choose any time range from the last 3 hours to the last 30 days from the drop-down menu.
KPIs: Choose the type of measurement data you would like to view in the drop-down menu. You can select multiple KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) at the same time.

You will see the overview of your KPIs in Total and below the measurment data for the KPIs you selected.

Please Note: When you select multiple KPIs, the data for these KPIs will be shown one after the other. Please scroll down the screen to see all data.

If you would like to change the parameters of your data, you can switch the sensor, the KPIs and the time range at any time.

The graphs are fully interactive. You can select any data point by clicking on the graph, and the value for this measurement will show above the graph:

In this example, the measurement value for the KPI Acceleration RMS was 0.54 on 12th February 2025 at 10:30 am.

Trigger sensor measurements

Introduction

Apart from scheduled events you can also trigger an additional sensor measurement manually.

This is useful if you want to get additional data points to confirm the need for maintenance of the asset after an alert or a warning. After maintenance you can trigger manual measurements to immediately check on the success of your maintenance procedure.

Requirements for manual measurements:

You need to be in close proximity to the Treon Industrial Node C sensor.
Treon Connect app installed on your phone.
NFC-capable phone or tablet.
Access rights for the Asset the sensor is mounted on.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Turn on NFC on your phone

If not enabled, enable NFC on your Android or iOS device.

Step 2: Open Treon Connect app

Open the Treon Connect app on your phone. In the navigation plane on the left side, choose the Assets menu.

Step 3: Choose Asset

From the list of Assets, choose the Asset on which the sensor is mounted on.

Step 4: Choose the sensor

From the list of sensors attached to the Asset, click the sensor you would like to measure.

Step 5: Trigger the measurement

A new menu with details on the sensor opens. On the top right click Actions.

Now a new menu on the bottom appears. Click Trigger Measuremet.

Step 6: NFC trigger

Now you will be asked to hold your phone or tablet over the sensor from which you want to trigger a measurement.

Please place the NFC sensor of your device directly above the sensor as shown in the picture.

Hold the phone or tablet in place until 100 % have been reached on the progress bar. After you have successfully triggered a measurement, you will receive this confirmation on the bottom of the app:

Step 5: Wait

After triggering a manual measurement on a Treon Industrial Node C, please wait shortly until the sensor has completed the measurement and forwarded the data to your Treon Connect platform. It can take 1 to 10 minutes for the data to be visible in your Treon Connect Mobile app.

Step 6: See measurement data

Now you can access the measurement data of your manually triggered measurement.

Additionally, the manual measurement will trigger an Info Event in the Events menu.

You have now successfully triggered a manual sensor measurement!
