The Treon Industrial Node X is a wireless, battery‑powered sensor designed to monitor the condition of industrial equipment and support predictive maintenance. It is commonly used on rotating machinery such as pumps, motors, compressors, and fans.

The Treon Industrial Node X monitors key indicators of machine health, including vibration and surface temperature. Changes in these signals can reveal early signs of mechanical or electrical issues, helping prevent unexpected failures and unplanned downtime.

The Treon Industrial Node X operates as part of a wireless mesh network, sending measurement results directly or via other sensors to a Treon Gateway. From there, data is transferred to Treon Connect for visualization, analysis, and integration with other systems.

Once installed and powered on, the device automatically begins measuring according to its configured measurement profile, providing continuous insight into asset condition with minimal maintenance effort.

When the battery of your Treon Industrial Node X is about to deplete, it is time to change it.

The old battery can be removed and a new one installed immediately.

When to switch the battery

You Treon Connect instance will send battery alert events to all people with access to the asset the Treon Industrial Node X is commissioned to.

You can additionally manually monitorthe battery status of your Treon Industrial Node X sensors. In your Treon Connect instance, go to the Devices menu and click on the node you would like to check. A menu will open that shows the battery voltage at the top.

Requirements

For switching the battery of a Treon Industrial Node X you need:

a new Treon Battery Module B111 or B211 (depnding on your Treon Industrial Node X model)
a screwdriver (type, size?)
Personal protective equipment (PPE) as per site rules.

Ideally, replace the battery of the Treon Industrial Node X in a clean environment. The battery can be replaced while the Treon Industrial Node X is mounted to the asset.

To order a new battery and O-ring for your Treon Industrial X, please contact Treon.

Please note: Replacement of the Treon Battery Module B111 or B211 with an incorrect type of battery will defeat an interal safeguard and the Treon Industrial Node X will become inoperable. Only use original Treon Battery Modules. The battery module is to be replaced by instructed persons only!

Step-by-step battery replacement

To replace Treon Battery Module B111 or B211:

Remove all dirt and dust from the sensor before opening the cover.
Turn the safety screw carefully counterclockwise to open it.
Open the plastic top cover by turning it counterclockwise.
Remove the old Treon Battery Module by lifting it up from the sensor base.
Remove the old O-ring.
Replace the O-ring with a new one.
Place a new Treon Battery Module in the sensor base.
Close the plastic top cover by turning it clockwise. When fully closed the small notches at the bottom of the top cover will align with the screw opening at the base of the sensor.
Secure the safety screw on the sensor. Make sure the screw is fully tightened to prevent any movement or loosening during use.

Troubleshooting

Error: Installing a standard battery.

The battery module of the Treon Industrial Node X cannot be replaced with a standard store-bought battery. Please contact Treon to receive a new battery module.
Replacement of Treon Battery Module B111 or B211 with an incorrect type of battery can defeat a safeguard and voids product warranty. The battery module is to be replaced by instructed persons only.

Error: Safety-screw cannot be unfastened.

Please use the correct screwdriver (type, size) to unfasten the safety-screw. We recommend using a manual screwdriver. The screw should be tightened but not over-tightened when being fastened.
In case the screw has been overtightened or the screw profile has been worn out, and it seems not possible ot remove it, please contact Treon Support for further help.

Error: New O-ring does not fit in.

Please make sure to only use the original Treon O-ring that comes with the replacement Treon Battery Module and no third-party products.
The O-ring should fit into the space without the need to stretch it.

Error: Casing cannot be closed.

Please make sure the Treon Battery Module has been properly installed before re-installing the cover of the Treon Industrial Node X.
After proper installation of the battery module, the cover should fit over the node basis without force.

Error: Safety-screw got lost.

Please do not take your Treon Industrial Node X into use without the cover being secured to the basis with the safety-screw. The vibrations of the asset it is attached to might loosen the cover and it can come off, potentially causing damage to the asset!

Error: Asset cannot be powered off.

Treon does not recommend exchanging the Treon Battery Module of a Treon Industria Node X while it is attached to a powered-on and running asset!
Attempting to remove the cover, to exchange the battery module, and to install the cover again can potentially lead to damage to the product, damage to the asset, and harm to your life!
